JOIN

Residents of Knutsford are encouraged to join the Knutsford Community Response Society, our newly founded not-for-profit organization dedicated to
planning for and responding to emergencies in our community.

You must be a current resident of Knutsford to qualify.


There is no cost for membership, and it entitles you to voting rights at our Annual General Meeting to help guide the future direction of the society.

Information you provide will be kept in confidence.

Notice of AGM

7:00 pm at the Knutsford Hall


We invite you to the first Annual General Meeting of your Knutsford CommunityResponse Society.

Our purpose is to protect the safety of our wonderful community of Knutsford. We do this by providing organizational support to KIRT [Knutsford Initial Response Team]. KIRT is our team of volunteers who respond quickly to emergency situations e.g.wildfires before they spread.


The AGM will be divided into several parts:

1. Greetings from TNRD Director Doug Haughton and overview by Janice Winger of TNRD about the Cooperative Community Response approach we are part of with TNRD and BC Wildfire Service.

2. Brief reporting on the activities of our first year.
a. Capacity building by KIRT – recruiting, training, practicing, responding to callouts during the 2024 fire season.
b. Getting our new society up and running, including finances.

3. Election of Directors to the Board of KCRS to fill vacancies and to fill gaps.

4. Open discussion, questions and answers – developing priorities and goals for the coming fire season of 2025 and the longer term future.
